The Lowrance Elite 5Ti is a fishfinder/chartplotter combo featuring high resolution 5″ LED-backlit color display. The built-in wireless connectivity provides access to the GoFree Cloud where you can shop, purchase, download and immediately use Insight maps, and third-party maps from GoFree partners. This fishfinder/chartplotter provides greater sensitivity, improved target resolution and superior noise rejection for clearer, easy-to-see bait fish and game fish targets using CHIRP sonar technology.

The Elite-5 Ti also features integrated Bluetooth® and wireless connectivity that not only allows to download software updates directly to the unit, but gives the capability to download Insight Genesis custom maps to the unit – for immediate use – directly from the water.

I purchased this unit with a TotalScan Transom Mount Transducer.

I initially mounted the TotalScan Transducer on my RAM “over the side” transducer mount but this setup is a real pain. Takes time to set up and prone to getting hung up in the weed plus have lost a fish or two when my line got tangled in the setup.

The TotalScan Transducer does fit in the forward section of the Frontier Tracking Channel and does NOT protrude. I am guessing is will have an effect on the tracking of the kayak BUT I use a small trolling motor and it should not be a big deal.
